This marble top was found on the street, with a corner broken off. Instead of hiding the break, it is mended with gold: a new corner, cast in epoxy and sprayed gold, inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi. The steel base was found separately and sprayed black. The marble carries a few stains that no longer come out. They are part of its second life, and give it character. Broken once, whole again, and it matters again.
